Mermaid on Beach

While visiting Marconi Beach on Cape Cod, I tripped onto a group of massive sand sculptures. This one, of a mermaid, with seaweed locks, was particularly well done, I thought.

Now trying something. I find the text above to be terribly tight both in terms of letter spacing and line spacing. That was 12 point Comic Sans. This is 10 point Comic Sans

Just trying a few new things here with the text. Probably will look like hell, but I always liked green Comic Sans text (it is my default for IM) so maybe I will need to design a template around it!

Taken earlier this year during an apple-picking outing with some friends. My friend Eileen had to climb a tree to get the choice apples out on the end of a branch.

Shot a year or so ago with my Dad's old Welta Weltax. This is a portion of one of the old Erie Canal locks located a block or so from where I now live. The Canal, first opened in the 1820s opened western New York and much of the midwest to settlement by the burgeoning population of the young United States. The canal went through several iterations and I am not sure which generation this lock comes from.
